You can also use this spool of wire for extending your system. You can create lake loops (such as off-limits areas within your main boundary zone). You can also use this wire to repair wire breaks or damaged sections of your existing dog fence wire. With that being said, we always recommend upgrading the gauge of the dog fence wire on your system right from the beginning. Most of the DIY dog fence kits come with a single 500 ft. spool of 20-gauge dog fence wire such as this one. If you currently have a dog fence that utilizes 20 gauge dog fence wire, this wire will match it. It is not recommended to use wires of different gauges in your installation.
